Electrical & Computer EngineeringFirst Year Interest Groups (FIGs)

Most of our First Year students participate in ECE First-year Interest Groups (FIGs).

A FIG is a cluster of courses a group of 20-25 students take together (such as a math class and our 2 intro ECE courses) in the fall semester. They additionally have a 1 hour seminar that is led by an upperclassmen ECE mentor. These groups learn about the ECE community, play games, visit important places on campus, and build community all throughout the first semester and beyond!

Electrical & Computer EngineeringHonors Program

The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Honors Program is an honors program for outstanding and highly motivated ECE undergraduate students. The ECE Honors Program provides a rigorous, challenging and faster-pace curriculum and environment to a cohort of students who have the background, ability and the desire and motivation to pursue a more demanding track.

Electrical & Computer Engineering and Business Honors Program

The Texas Honors Electrical and Computer Engineering and Business program offers a dual degree that provides hands-on, project-based learning within two of the most in-demand fields in today’s marketplace.

Challenging coursework will provide a solid understanding of both business and electrical and computer engineering (ECE), while simultaneously enabling students to earn bachelor's degrees in ECE honors and business honors more quickly than studying each discipline independently.
