Click on this Icon to start the selection process.

Selecting Subjects

Across the top, click on the Learning Areas tab. This will take you to the page where you will find information on all the subjects available for your Year level.

Selecting Subjects

You can click on the subject name, and a new page will appear showing you what you can choose for next year, and then the different Year level below. This is where you will find information on each subject and a powerpoint presentation to view.

Selecting Subjects - Compulsory subjects

Compulsory subjects will be selected for you automatically. You will see the subjects that are automatically assigned to you under the My Courses tab.

Selecting Subjects - Optional Subjects

To select a course, in the Learning Areas, click on the subject icon. This will open another page and you can read what that course is about, view the powerpoint presentation, see what NCEA standards are linked to that subject (if applicable), etc. At the bottom of the page you will see ‘Select Course’. Clicking on this will attach this course to your ‘My Courses’ area.

Selecting a Subject - Optional Subjects

When you click on a subject, a popup will appear and you can place that subject in the number grid of your choice. This is so you can select your top choice of subject down to your least favourite subject.

You also need to add a Backup Selection, so please make sure you enter a subject in the backup box just in case one of your selections is not available.

Selecting a Subject

Once you have placed your subjects in the numbered boxes, click the Confirm Selection button at the bottom of the page.

This will lock in your selection

Selecting your Subjects - Removing a Subject

If you decide you do not want to keep one of your selections, go the the My Courses page, and underneath each subject (except any Compulsory subjects) you will see a Remove button. Click on this and it will remove that subject.

Selecting your Subjects - Confirming your subjects

Once you have selected all your subjects, click on the I’m Complete button and your subjects will be there for your caregivers to approve. You can still make changes to your selection up to the close off date.

Selecting your Subjects - Subject Priority Order

Click on the ‘Select Course Priority Order’ button.

You will see Religious Studies is automatically at the top with a light grey box beside it. This subject can not be moved.

The next subjects will be your compulsory subjects, followed by your optional subjects.

To move them, just click and hold the button at the side of the subject name, and drag to where you would like it to be.

Click the ‘Save Course Priority Order’

After you have clicked the ‘Complete my Courses’, confetti will drop with a confirmation message.

Selecting Subjects - Parent/Caregiver Approval

Once you have finished selecting your subjects, your Parent/Caregiver must approve the choices under their login.

Once this approval has been given, as a student, you will not be able to change your subjects.�

Options Evening

We have an Options Evening on Wednesday 30 July from 4.00pm to 6.30pm for current Years 9-12 students and their caregivers. At this event you were able to talk to Heads of Departments about the right courses for your daughter.

If you are unable to attend, please have your daughter talk to her subject teacher or the Head of Department if she has any queries.

The structure of the evening will be as follows:

  • 4:00 – 6:00 pm: Subject teachers are available for whānau and ākonga to meet and find out more information about each subject hosted in the School Hall.
  • 6:00 – 6:30 pm: NCEA Presentation regarding current Year 11 students, hosted in the staff room.

You also need to select FIVE optional subjects

One of these subjects can be ILT (Independent Learning).

English OR English as an Additional Language

Mathematics OR Mathematics with Statistics

Science OR Science Applied

When you log in, you will see that Religious Education has automatically been added to your subject list but you will need to select which version of Mathematics, Science and English you wish to take.

You also need to select THREE optional subjects

Logging out

To log out, go to your name on the side bar, click on the name and then click Logout from the dropdown box.
