*Level of impact to school can only be assessed for those schools that have opened to in-person instruction. Schools should collaborate with local health departments on contact

investigations. Depending on the level of COVID-19 transmission in the school and outbreak status, public health may recommend adjustment to prevention strategies. If a school

is conducting a COVID-19 testing program, screening testing data can also be helpful.

Now that students have returned to school, we can again use this as a metric in our operational strategy. As expected, we have had sporadic cases in our schools as students returned this week, but to date we have no evidence of transmission within our schools, so we consider that indicator to be low. I would note, however, that we are working with the health department to examine a case involving multiple students at one of our schools. It is possible, that will be determined to have been a transmission within the school, but that has not be determined at this time. As expected, we are also starting to see increases in the number of students who are out of school because of quarantine requirements, and would suggest that we are in the medium level of impact at this point. To monitor staff absences, we have implemented a new reporting protocol with our principals in which they report their daily staff absences to us each Tuesday. This has helped us to establish a baseline of absences and we will continue to monitor those numbers each week. Currently, the total number of staff absences do not appear to be above average at this time.

Finally, tonight I would like to provide you with some updated information about the status of our staff with regard to the COVID vaccine.

At this time we have about 94% of our total staff who have reported their vaccination status to date. We continue to work to get this information from all staff members. Here you can see the number of staff members as a whole and teachers as a subset of that who are fully vaccinated, partially vaccinated, not vaccinated, or prefer not to share their vaccination status. With the exception of those who are fully vaccinated, all others will be required to do weekly testing.

We are partnering with GenetWorx, a company based out of Richmond for the testing. The test are PCR tests done with a swab, and through GenetWorx the results will be available within 24 hours. We have testing sites set up for our employees in each of the feeder patterns. Tests will be available multiple days of the week through these locations. While all non-vaccinated employees will be required to test, we are opening these locations to our vaccinated employees who are in need of testing.
