Introduction &

background

•Online voting system (OVS) encompasses various types of voting as electronic means of counting votes to select leaders via a web-based application.

•It can also involve the transmission of ballots and votes via telephones, private computer networks, or the internet.

•Voting is not just for government guidance but also entertainment, project selection, school board decision making, etc...

• Online voting reduces congestion & minimizes errors of vote counting by generating accurate results apart from injustice and fraud.

•The individual votes are submitted to a database that can be queried to find out who of the competitors has the highest votes number.

Lever Voting Machine

It consists of levers and a curtain.
Voter close the curtains by lever and votes by the small array levers that are locked after each vote.

It consists of a touch screen to display ballots.
Voter should select his choices and the votes are saved in a memory.

Conclusions &

Future work

By online voting system, percentage of voting increases as well as decreases the cost and time of the voting process

This system gives the voter his voting right accurately away from unjustness also the candidate appoints a position without prior succession crises

For the future work we aim to

1) Implement the system via the Internet and present it to the Council of Electoral Authorities in the

country to adopt it.

2) Contact the networking companies to create a firewall for protecting the website from any SQL

injections and hacking.

3) Add a facial recognition authentication algorithm for extra security.

4) Develop an electoral system for other countries not only restricted to the Lebanese electoral system.
