What do I do, to help myself, read a word?

1. Sound it out with tracing the sounds. (ABC Chart Clusters/Blends)

2. Go back and reread the word with a different sound (ABC Chart).

3. Is it a red word? Ask for help.

4. Go back and reread the other words around the word.

5. Look at the picture.

6. ALWAYS ask yourself, “Does this make sense?”

7. Chunk the word into smaller parts.
