Self-Reflection Questions

You got this far in high school, and you are about to take the next steps. As you start planning for post-secondary, think about what worked and didn’t work for you so far.

  • How do you learn most successfully? In person? On your own?
  • How easy or difficult has it been for you to adapt to the constant changes?
  • What positive things have helped support you through high school?

University Myth # 1

I can apply for “Early Admission”

Definition of an “Early Offer”:

Conditional offers based on Gr. 11 marks and Gr.12 timetable.

You cannot apply for early admission! They decide to make you an offer. Different universities and different programs choose differently. There is no one standard or date.

34 of 57

Myth # 2

I get to choose which marks to submit

You do not!

Your marks are transmitted by TDSB to OCAS and/or OUAC.

OCAS – Grade 9 to 12

OUAC – Grade 11 and 12 only

35 of 57

Myth # 3

I have an advantage if I have all my easy/tough subjects in semester 1 or 2.

  • Schools are interested in seeing which courses are on your schedule, and how you have done so far.
  • They never demand that a subject be in one semester or another
