What is Different During 4-Day

  • Social Distancing is a minimum of 3 feet but greater in classes where available
  • Lunches served in cafe, auditorium, and a few classrooms all 6 feet apart
    • Breakfast and lunch are free for all students this year!
  • All students home on Friday
  • Students permitted to carry book bags as they will not be using their locker
  • Students will not be changing for gym class
  • Students must wear a mask throughout the day

Safety Procedures

  • Daily Health Screenings via Ruvna
    • Families will receive these each morning via text and email.
    • Families will complete these prior to sending students
  • For the health and safety of the school community, all Pennsbury students and staff are required to wear a cloth face mask while on school property, including the bus.
  • Cloth masks must have two or more layers, cover the nose and the mouth and fit securely under the chin and to both sides of your face.
  • Cloth masks must not have exhalation vents or valves.
  • Face shields are not substitutes for a cloth face mask and must be worn with a cloth face mask.
  • Neck gaiters are NOT considered cloth face masks and are not permitted to be worn in place of a cloth face mask.
  • Social Distancing
    • Teachers will work with students to maintain social distancing
    • Rooms are setup to maintain the greatest amount of social distancing.
      • No classes are less than 3 feet

When to Keep Your Child Home

For the health and safety of the entire school community, it is important for children to stay at home when the following applies:

  • They have symptoms of COVID-19
  • They are awaiting results of a COVID-19 test
  • They live with someone who has COVID-19
  • They have been ordered to isolate or quarantine by a doctor or the Department of Health

What if a student needs to leave the classroom?

  • Students will complete a digital sign-out sheet when they are leaving and returning

Restrooms

  • Students will be able to fill up their water bottles at the water filling stations, markings are included on the floor
  • 2 students in a restroom at a time

Nurse

  • The nurse will work with teachers about nurse visits
  • We have spaces setup for social distance

Hallway Safety

  • Students will walk down one side of the hall keeping social distance
  • Signage throughout the halls to remind students about social distance

  • Desks will be sprayed after each period by the classroom teacher
  • Students will have the option to wipe down area if they choose to
  • Sanitizer in every classroom

What the first day will look like

  • Prior to the first day, students will check their A-Period Canvas page for their room number. All A-Period teachers will post this on 4/9/21
    1. All teachers will post room numbers
  • Students will arrive to the building either by bus or by parent/guardian drop-off
    • Please review parent/guardian pick-up and drop-off procedures-click here
  • Students will enter the building and either go to the cafe to get breakfast or report directly to their A-Period class.
  • Throughout the day teachers will review procedures, processes, and protocols that will assist students
  • There will be plenty of staff on hand to assist with getting students from class to class.

What the typical day will look like

  • Arrival-Doors open at 7:45. Students must be in A-Period by 8:10
  • Dismissal-Students will be dismissed in a staggered fashion to help with social distancing
    • Walkers-Exit out the back by the cafeteria
    • Parent/Guardian pick-up-Exit out doors closes to Big Oak Rd near softball fields
    • Bus students-Bus dock-Will be called by bus
  • Students will travel to their classes throughout the day
  • Students have the opportunity to eat breakfast and lunch in a socially distanced environment with other students.
    • Breakfast will be in the cafe and the auditorium.
    • Lunch will be in the cafeteria, auditorium and classrooms
      1. Students will be assigned to lunchrooms by last name for the remainder of the year
    • Students will participate in Expressive Arts and PE just like they have been doing.

What Should I Bring to School?

  7. Lunch if packing
  8. Chromebooks/Chromebook charger-Charged
  9. Appropriate attire
  10. 1 box of facial tissues to be given to your A Period teacher
  11. 1 container of disinfectant wipes to be given to your A teacher
  12. 1 pump bottle of hand sanitizer - if possible/available

Parents/Guardian Drop-off and Pick-Up

  • Parents/Guardian can drop students off starting at 7:45.
  • Parents/Guardian Drop-off and Pick-Up is located near the softball fields of Boehm
  • Please follow traffic pattern and drive slowly.
  • Do not pass cars
  • Do not make U-Turns near the softball field
  • Do not park in any parking spaces
  • Students can enter the A and B door in the morning (see the maps)
  • Students will only exit the B door in the afternoon (see the maps)

Arrival

  • Students can enter the building starting at 7:45 and must be in A-period by 8:10 AM.
  • Students will report directly to the classroom unless they are eating breakfast.

Dismissal

  • Students will be dismissed at 2:00 PM and the parent/guardian will wait in the line for parent pick-up See the next slide and video above.
  • If students are taking the bus they will simply board their bus and be transported home.
  • Please remind students to maintain social distance while waiting at the bus stop.

Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast-7:45-8:10

  • Breakfast will be available to all students free of charge when they enter the building in a grab and go fashion.
  • Students will eat in the cafeteria at designated desk or the auditorium. When finished they will report directly to their A-Period Class.

Lunch-Staggered Lunches (see the schedule on a previous slide)

  • Students may bring in their own lunch
  • Lunch will also be available to all students free of charge with a limited menu
  • Students will place their orders in the morning via a Google Form found on Clever
  • Lunch will be delivered to a designated area
  • Students will eat lunch in the cafe, auditorium or specific classrooms while being socially distanced.
  • Students will be placed in lunch rooms based on their last name for the remainder of the year
  • Students will be able to remove their masks when eating but must put them back on when they are finished.

Health and Physical Education

  • Students will continue to have Health and PE
  • Students will not change for gym class
  • Students will be going outside for PE as much as possible

What Will Friday's Look Like?

  • All students will remain at home
  • It look like what it does in the Virtual Setting
  • 7-period synchronous schedule with office hours
  • We will keep the same bell schedule M-F

What If My Student is Virtual

  • Virtual Students will follow the same bell schedule as the In-Person Students.
  • Office Hours will be from 2:15-3:15
  • Synchronous learning
  • Virtual students will interact with In-Person students based on daily classroom activities
