Questions
Then your first shoutout, live
4
Every day, someone here does something that makes another person's job easier, or better, or possible. Most of the time nobody says anything. Not because we don't notice, but because there's no natural moment to say it and no easy way to do it.
Why we’re doing this
The work gets noticed. The people don’t always.
Think about your own career.
The moments you remember aren't the raises. They're the times someone stopped and told you that what you did mattered.
5
What we chose
So we're giving everyone a way to say it.
1
Recognize anyone
Send a shoutout to any colleague, any time, in a few seconds. Public by default so the whole team sees it.
HiThrive is a recognition platform that lives inside [Slack / Microsoft Teams / your browser]. There's nothing new to learn and nothing extra to log into. It works where we already work.
2
Never miss a moment
Birthdays, work anniversaries, and new joiners are celebrated automatically. No one has to remember.
3
Rewards that are actually yours
Points you receive turn into real rewards you choose. Gift cards, brands you know, charitable giving, and more.
6
7
Shoutouts
Recognize anyone, in seconds.
A shoutout is a short, public thank-you. It posts in [#channel-name] so the whole team can see it and react. You can tag one of our values to show what the moment reinforced.
No approval needed
Nobody has to sign off. Just send it.
Takes about a minute
It fits into a normal working day.
How to send one
Slack
Type /hithrive in any channel, then tag your colleague and write your message.
Microsoft Teams
Open the message extension below the compose box and choose HiThrive.
Web or phone
Go to app.hithrive.com from any browser, on any device.
No company laptop? Sign in from your phone with an email link. No password needed.
Points are how a shoutout carries something tangible with it. You attach them when you send.
[x] Points
Your allowance to give
Resets every [month / quarter]. Unused giving points don't roll over, so use them.
100 Points
Equal to $1.00
Simple math. A 500-point Shoutout is a $5 reward for the person receiving it.
Never expire
Points you receive
Anything a colleague sends you stays in your balance until you decide to redeem it.
Points
You have points to give. They're meant to be used.
Two different balances: the points you give away each period, and the points you've received and can redeem.
9
What good looks like
The difference between nice and memorable.
Too generic
“Thanks for all your hard work on the project. Really appreciated it.”
There's a simple formula, and it works at every level and in every role.
Name what they did
Name why it mattered
Name the impact
Specific and memorable
“The way you held the team together during the final week of the project launch, when the scope kept shifting and the timeline didn't, was the difference between delivering and not.”
Values
What we recognize is what we become.
When you send a shoutout you can tag the value it reflects. Over time that shows us which of our values are genuinely alive in the work, and which ones we need to pay more attention to.

Our Values:
Celebrations
Some moments happen automatically.
Birthdays
A post on the day, with room for the team to pile on
Work anniversaries
Every year, marked publicly
New joiners
A welcome on day one, before they've even
found the coffee.
Birthdays, work anniversaries, and new joiners are posted in [#channel-name] without anyone having to remember. All you have to do is join in.
For managers
Bigger moments, bigger recognition.
Managers and leaders have a separate budget for the moments that deserve more than a shoutout — a project that landed, a hard quarter carried, a life event worth marking.
Team wins and major milestones
Life moments — new babies, weddings, new homes
Preconfigured gifts and messages, ready to send
Budgets and approvals set by [Company Name]
Managers: send one at app.hithrive.com/spot-celebrations
Your wallet is already funded. It resets [monthly / quarterly].
Rewards
Points become something real.
Redeem whenever you like. There's no deadline and no pressure — some people cash out monthly, others save for something bigger.
Gift cards
Amazon
Premium brands
Charitable giving
Cash equivalents

One last thing
Everything is in place. The rest is us.
We chose a platform that removes the things that usually get in the way, so that using it is never the hard part.
Already taken care of:
No approval and no sign-off to send one
It lives where we already work, every day
Works on any device, wherever you are
Rewards people would genuinely choose
Nothing new to learn, nothing extra to open
The one thing left:
A platform can make recognition effortless. It was never going to be able to make it sincere. That part comes from us. From noticing what someone did, and taking a minute to say so. The tool is ready whenever we are. And that was always going to be the best part.
15
Where you come in
Three things that land.
The best recognition cultures aren't managed from the top. They're built by everyone, a moment at a time.
Go first
Don't wait for someone else to start. Send one today.
Be specific
Use the formula. Two sentences beats two words.
Look wider
Think beyond your daily circle. Good work is easiest to
miss at a distance.
What happens next
Your first week, roughly.
It goes live
HiThrive appears in
[#channel-name]. You'll get an email with your sign-in link, and your
points are already there.
Nothing here needs preparation from you. It's just so you know what to expect and when.
LAUNCH DAY
Send your first
Pick someone who helped you recently and tell them why it mattered. That's the whole ask.
THIS WEEK
Celebrations run
ONGOING
Your points refresh
Your giving allowance resets. Anything you've received keeps stacking up.
EVERY [MONTH]
Birthdays, anniversaries and new joiners post on their own. All you do is join in.
Away that week, or joining later? Nothing is missed. Everything is waiting when you get back.
Before we go
Questions?
Do I have to take part?
Nothing is mandatory. But the more of us who do, the better it works for everyone.
I'd rather not have a public birthday post.
That's completely fine. You'll be told before anything posts, and preferences can be adjusted or switched off. Just speak to [HR contact].
What if I forget to use my points?
Giving points reset each [month / quarter]. Points you receive never expire.
Can I recognize someone on another team?
Anyone, anywhere. Cross-team recognition is one of the most valuable kinds.
Is this replacing anything?
[No, this sits alongside how we already recognize people. / Adjust as needed.]
Who do I ask for help?
[HR contact], help.hithrive.com, or the support widget inside the app.
18
Send one shoutout
before you close your laptop.
Think of someone who helped you this week. That's all it takes to start.
