  • All students need to get their minutes AND units weekly.
  • It is imperative that students get their minutes in LEXIA each week. However, they also need to be sure they are getting their units complete.

  • Once the students log in, the minutes start tallying. If the students are not actively working, the units gained will not increase but their minutes will continue to increase.

Units gained is the ultimate goal.

  • Do not worry about the predictor colors. This does not account for time missed due to holidays, weather days, etc. Focus on minutes and units gained. The first of each month the predictor and minutes may change. The predictor is determined by how many weeks the student meets the minutes and units.

Video to show when students should press the “X

10 of 17

This is the first thing students see once they login. They have to do the warm up each time they log on.

It does not count for units but does count towards their time. It is a 1 minute warm-up.

“Piece of Pie” complete

“Piece of Pie” not complete

You may hear us refer to having students complete at least one “piece of the pie” before pressing the red “x”.

If students click the red “x” before completing a piece of pie, they will lose the progress they just made. We suggest giving students a 5 minute warning so they have time to do this.

1 piece of pie = 1 unit

3/4 Units complete for this Skill

Completed this Skill

This student still needs to complete all of Letter Matching, Nursery Rhymes, and Print Concepts.

The student can click on any Skill they want to work on. Once they complete one “piece of the pie” for that skill the student can press the “x” and the do another Skill.
