The Problem Statement

Navigating college life can be daunting, especially for freshmen who often find it challenging to approach seniors for guidance and mentorship. Additionally, many students face challenges accessing affordable learning resources, while potential teachers encounter barriers to sharing their knowledge. These obstacles limit opportunities for both groups to teach and learn effectively. How can we break down these barriers and create a more inclusive learning environment that also bridges the gap between different academic years?

Survey Methodology

    • Objective: The objective of this survey is to understand the impact of college life on students' skill-building journeys, particularly focusing on their involvement in clubs or organizations, willingness to teach skills, and interest in a knowledge-sharing platform.

    • Survey Design: The survey was designed to gather quantitative and qualitative data through a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire included Likert scale questions, multiple-choice questions, and open-ended questions to provide a comprehensive view of students' experiences and attitudes.

    • Participants: The survey targeted college students from various disciplines and academic years throughout India to ensure a diverse range of perspectives.

    • Data Collection: The survey was distributed online using survey platforms, here, Google Forms.

Key Findings

    • 85.4% of our survey takers were from first yearl, out of which 64.6% of them have claimed improvement in certain skills, but could be doing more than they already are.
    • 49.2% of the people are hesitant to join clubs due to academic stress and unalignment with goals with clubs, however, they are willing to reach out to a mate who can guide them in exchange of a monetary incentive.
