By June 2026, Red Oak Middle School will increase its School Performance Grade by 15 points, as measured by the North Carolina School Report Card, through targeted academic interventions, professional development for teachers, and data-driven instructional strategies.

By June 2026, Red Oak Middle School will decrease the number of student discipline referrals by 10%, as measured by internal behavior tracking systems, by implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), enhancing student engagement strategies, and providing staff with classroom management training.

PBIS Implementation

  • Fully implement PBIS across all grade levels with consistent behavior expectations and reward systems.�
  • Ensure the discipline matrix is used with fidelity and consistency.

Targeted Support for Students

  • Address individual behavior needs during SST meetings.�
  • Provide interventions such as behavior contracts, Check-In/Check-Out systems, counseling, and small-group supports.

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)

  • Embed SEL opportunities into the curriculum and daily Tiger Time.�
  • Promote positive student-teacher relationships and restorative practices.�
  • Strengthen family partnerships to support SEL and behavior goals.

Professional Development & Staff Support�

  • Provide ongoing PD on proactive classroom management strategies.�
  • Offer timely and specific feedback to teachers following walkthroughs and observations.�
  • Hold both students and staff accountable to high expectations.�

Leadership & Monitoring�

  • Increase administrative visibility and presence in classrooms and common areas.�
