PASSIVE VOICES - ALL TENSES AND FORMS

  • Tense which is linked with time refers to action. It is the action word, the verb.
  • The Voice of a verb describes the relationship between the action that the verb expresses. It is a must for class 10th students to acquire competitive skills on main verbs – finite verbs. Finite verbs can be classified into 2 forms. Transitive Verb and Intransitive Verb

5 of 17

ONLY TRANSITIVE VERBS CAN BE USED IN THE PASSIVE VOICE.

If a verb conjugates, it has different forms that shows different tenses, the number of people it refers to and different forms of the verb and also the strong verbs and weak verbs.

LET US LEARN IT IN SIMPLE TERMS.

  • When the subject of a verb acts, it is Active Voice.
  • When the object of the active voice becomes the subject the verb is called to be in Passive Voice.
  • For Example,

I made a Mistake.

  • A mistake was made by me.

7 of 17

THE SUBJECT DOMINATES IN ACTIVE VOICE. THE OBJECT DOMINATES IN PASSIVE VOICE.

  • The Tense of the verb does not change. The verb of the Active Voice is quickly to be Scanned by the students and the third form of the verb ie Past Participle form of the action word is to be picked out. So the form of Passive Voice is Be form + Past Participle.
  • Always remember this form of Passive Voice and use it in practice and you will achieve your speaking speed of your English language.
