Recently, several of our team members had the honor and privilege of visiting our Brown Construction of Canada friends in their Alberta, Canada offices.

We were so inspired by their company, their team, and their culture, that we have decided to increase our focus on company connections,

across all departments and in all areas of our business.

We would like your help in doing so.

In the following pages, you will find many of the processes, policies, and procedures we have noted as areas that could benefit from being

freshened up, enhanced, and/or improved.

Prior to the next Operations Meeting, please make note of the two items that resonate most with you, or that you feel will best benefit your department so that we can begin planning for this implementation.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

  • Define leadership competencies expected of all leadership positions.
  • Articulate leadership goals and objectives for all levels of leadership.
  • Create Leadership Management Program for managers and supervisors.
  • Develop Professional Leadership Program for executives and key department leads.
  • Implement Leadership Culture Program for Employee Owners.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Review current learning management system and asses to be sure it is meeting our needs.
  • Build pathway programs (toolkits) for all positions and departments.
  • Define expected competencies for each position.
  • Create courses and curriculum specific to the pathways and competencies for each position.
  • Develop trainings that facilitate a more successful onboarding and offboarding process.
  • Put mechanisms in place to monitor employee progress and provide feedback regarding that progress.

HUMAN RESOURCES

  • Perform strategic review of Mission & Vision.
  • Review and revise Employee handbook to ensure that presentation and tone are on-brand.
  • Evaluate hiring practices to confirm that consistent and thorough procedures are being followed.
  • Employ more complete onboarding and offboarding practices.
  • Coordinate mentoring, buddy, and coaching programs.
  • Enhance employee engagement.
  • Implement workforce management forecasting to assist in strategic planning.
  • Monitor and guide team members in career & performance objectives.

COMPANY COMMUNICATIONS

  • Define communications requirements and expectations that will be incorporated into all company documents and messages.
  • Create a central department through which all information will be managed.
  • Communicate with all departments to gather team member- and project-related stories.
  • Plan and distribute content with a strategic and intentional focus.
  • Develop and enhance Elite Construction’s presence on all utilized social media platforms.
  • Implement workforce management forecasting to assist in strategic planning.
  • Prioritize Employee Recognition Program.

INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SERVICES

  • Review and assess all corporate software to determine if it is best for our team and the designated use.
  • Meet with each department to determine current and projected needs.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures for Information Technology activities and acquisitions.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures regarding company technology and equipment.
  • Develop or course method for managing and tracking all company devices.
  • Design organization process for storage and retrieval of company documents and resources.
