Arrival Procedures (doors open at 7:45)

Car Riders:

  • Each grade level will have a designated doorway.
    • Kindergarten: Gym Doors
    • 1st and 2nd Grade: Ramp Door
    • 3rd and 4th Grade: Center Back Doors
  • Students will report straight to class unless going to breakfast; students eating breakfast should arrive as close to 7:45 as possible.

Walkers/ Bus riders- Front Door:

  • Unless going to the cafeteria each class will follow a designated pathway to their grade level hallway

-MNPS mandates Masks. They will be available at all doorways

-Students arriving at 8:05a or later must be signed in by a parent at the front office

-Bathrooms closed upon arrival to monitor number of students and cleaning protocols

Dismissal  Procedures                                    (students dismissed at 3p; please pick up no later than 3:15p

Each teacher will lead their class along a designated route to drop students where they need to be. This will prevent congestion and crossover.

2:45p Announcements

2:50p bell: K and 1 move to dismissal locations

2:53 bell: 2nd-4th move to dismissal locations

Car Riders:

- Students will be called to designated grade level areas and

wait until whistle is blown to indicate all clear to load cars.

  • Adults remain in cars and stay in lane (please do not cross lanes)
  • Student’s grade, first and last name in driver’s side window

Walkers:

  • Dismissed as usual in a staggered fashion; please hold up Student’s grade, first and last name so staff can easily call students

Before and after care: PNA Opens at 6:30a, closes 6p (email Yawanda.mccord@mnps.org).

McCabe: accepting 50 students. McCabe and Sylvan Park permission slips required. NOTE: McCabe students are dismissed as walkers and walk to McCabe (only K if 6 years old, 1st-4th gr.)

Visitor Safety

Visitors:

  • No visitors will be allowed in the building

Facility Use:

  • Groups may use the facility when school is not in session (with facility use permission paperwork completed)
  • Clubs will be up and running this year (NSU, cooking, yoga, robotics, marathon kids)

Breakfast

PNA will eat 7:30-7:45a; dismiss to class at the 7:45a bell

Breakfast 7:45-8a (students eating breakfast at school should arrive at 7:45a)

Cafeteria, as numbers allow:

-Every other chair

-One side of the table

-Facing same direction

*Students will go through food line

*Remain seated and replace mask (masks are mandatory) when finished eating

*Escorted to class by an adult to ensure social distancing

Lunch

  • Hands washed prior to eating lunch
  • Cafeteria: 1 grade level at a time. As numbers allow:
    • Every other chair
    • Only one side of the table
    • Facing same direction
  • Students will go through the food line 
  • Remain seated for the duration of lunch
    • Replace mask (mandatory) when finished eating
  • Seating similarly to the classroom to limit possible transmissions
  • Tables and seats sanitized between all classes
  • NOTE: SP is an allergy aware school.

Bathrooms

Closed at arrival

Grade levels will work together to create staggered breaks

*Only Two students sent at a time from class

Classroom sinks used when possible for handwashing during transitions

Recess

*Masks no longer required outdoors

*Students will be asked to wash/ sanitize hands after recess

*Indoor Recess: mindful of social distancing

**Masks mandatory indoors

Ex. GoNoodle, socially distanced

games, Drawing or reading in seats

Classroom Procedures

* Desks spaced as far apart as possible

*Centers and group work as appropriate spacing allows

*Students seated by the same students for the duration of the day

Quarantined Spaces

* A quarantine space is set up in case a student is showing symptoms of COVID 19

* Room adjacent to nurse’s office

• If an out of school occurrence, notify school nurse and Principal���* All quarantines: Notify homeroom teacher. Work will be provided. More guidance coming from MNPS (we will share ASAP).����

My child has been quarantined. Now what?

*Return to school on the date specified by the healthcare professional.

Library

*Students will have access to the library for library classesas well as to check out materials.��*All classroom procedures of masks, spacing and seating order will be followed when possible.

*Students will be asked to wash/sanitize their hands before accessing the collection.

Student Computers

All students will have an individual computer (MNPS is a 1:1 district)

K-2 will keep their computer at school

a. The students will use the same computer each day

b. Charging carts are in each k-2 classroom for overnight charging

3rd and 4th grade computers will travel to and from school each day.

a.  student laptops will be checked out to them in the inventory system.

b. laptops should be charged each night and come to school fully

           charged.

Ice Cream social/ Roster Reveal 8/5 2nd-4th and 8/9 K-1

  1. **MASKS ARE MANDATORY INDOORS (in all MNPS facilities)**
  2. All parents and students have the opportunity to meet their teacher, drop supplies and see their classroom
  3. If possible: 3p-4p A-M
  4. 4p-5p N-Z
  5. Rosters will be posted on the front doors of the school
  6. If you do not find your child’s name, we will have a table set up where you can speak with

staff to rectify.

  1. Specialty staff members will be in the halls to help you find your child’s classroom
  2. Maximum 5 families at a time in classrooms- please help us control congestion by waiting in the hallway if there are 5 other families already in the classroom (keep social distancing in mind while you wait)
