Being Aware of our Emotional World

- An essential part of the exploration process is for the counsellor to be aware of his own emotional world, as it related to the client's story. This is a process of self- awareness and reflection, which assists the counsellor to know his own personality and limitations. This self- awareness is important for the counsellor to gain distance from his own emotions in order to become more objective when listening to the client.
