Integrated suspension system air+steel

Vision Statement:-

“To create a world with smooth and comfortable ride”

Mission Statement:-

“To give the customers the smoothest ride without damaging the vehicle chassis.”

  • Indian Automobile manufacturers have a fixed design structure which makes them compatible only for a single type of transport.

  • Modifications done on your suspension system is not widely used and since its unique design to each automobile it helps the customer to build their vehicle so that they can achieve their required needs.

  • Indian roads are very complex and they go through non uniform load distribution this way we can eliminate this uniform distribution and save your vehicle from damages that may endure during its travel.

  • According to government norms trucks are allowed to carry an additional 1 Ton per axle extra load due to air bellows.

  • Currently Gibraltar is the only air springs manufacturers india and the problem with them is that they don’t provide any solution for air-bellows in trucks.

  • Suspension system is the most important part in a vehicle because the B10 life of the vehicle varies with your suspension system.

  • Automobile companies hold 8-9 % of the GDP in India so modification in this field will have a substantial market growth in the years upcoming.

  • India is among the top 5 largest market for automobile in the world and it has huge upscale potential in the coming years.

  • Key truck manufacturers like Barath Benz and Ashok Leyland are looking to switch there suspensions to air suspensions or an integrated form.

  • Air + steel integrated system is a new suspension system which is fully capable of performing same with additional features that will extend the life expectancy of the vehicle.

  • Around 800000 trucks were sold in the year 2019 in just India. Despite the decline in sales of trucks local truck operating companies will want to increase their truck-life so potential sales will increase as the years progresses.

6 of 23

Strategy:-

  • The company’s initial sales will come from integrated systems which focuses on trucks mainly.

  • The company as its producing air springs also for the integrated system we can sell them to multinational truck manufacturers that use/are switching to air suspension
  • The company will target not only multi national companies but also small scale industries that are using these vehicles without the integrated system to give them also the advantage.

Future Goals:-

  • The company will like to grow into modification for body parts to not just in trucks but cars and other motorised vehicles which will benefit the vehicle.

  • Expansion of the company through setting up workshops for the easy access to local truck manufacturers across India
  • The company also will like to take care of the steel suspension systems after it generates a fixed amount

Strength

    • Chassis life increases
    • Ride comfort
    • Ride height manipulated
    • Additional 1 ton legal payload

Weakness

    • Air bellows may burst during overloading
    • High maintenance
    • Expensive

Opportuity

    • Can be used in any type of automotive industries
    • Covers any type of truck

Threat

    • This design is only specific to trucks and buses where payload carrying capacity matters
    • Automobile industries may not find any immediate need to switch to air suspension

  • No of bellows= 8
  • No of leaf suspension= 4

Design Specifications:-

  • Air bellows and leaf springs are the responsible for the suspension action in the system. The two of them work together to form one suspension activity.

  • Smart ECU is an electronic chip that uses to control the bellow height and internal pressure which doesn’t allow extra load to be taken to avoid the bellow to burst.

  • LSV or load sensing valve is a electronic chip which is used to measure the load acting on the bellows and accordingly regulate the ride height of the vehicle. One can manipulate the ride height because of this .

  • Cast brackets are extension mountings that makes sure the 3 springs work coordinatively together and there is uniform load distribution throughout the journey.

NPV and IRR Calculations

NPV= (25L/1.1)+(1.45C/1.1^2)+(2.4C/1.1^3)-2.65C

= 94.8 L

So NPV value is 94.8L @10% value of r

IRR =

Getting about 78.8% of r value

  • Break Even occurs after 1 year and 6 months

  • Setting up our industry gives a huge opportunity for job employment as this requires both labourers as well engineers to work on this project.

  • By achieving break even early this gives us the opportunity to grow into a much bigger industry where we can not only sell air suspensions but also move into modification of automobiles.

  • More investors will be ready to pump capital into the industry allowing us the opportunity to deal with automobiles and not just trucks and buses.

  • Air suspension is the next generation suspension system and it increases the standard of living of the country .

22 of 23

  • Due to the B10 life of trucks increasing, the number of trucks getting manufactured will subsequently reduce .

  • As the manufacturing of air springs does not involve any burning of materials soo emissions produced are subsequently very less.

  • The process involves more of labour work and less machinery thereby not contributing much to the global emission.

  • Due to extra load carrying capacity by each in reduces the total number of on- road trucks thus reducing in any form of emissions
