Hour and Attendance Requirements

• Must complete 10 cultural hours for previous members, 5 for new members
• All hours are due in x2vol by April 30th.
• Previous members must attend at least 5 out of 7 general meetings. New members must attend 3 of 4 general meetings.

Hour Opportunities

Sabores Latinos

• Prepare a latino/hispanic recipe from scratch and record a video
• Filmed with a partner or individually
• Video must be 2-4 minutes long
• Earns up to 1-2 hours depending on quality and effort
• Submit video through google form
• Submit hours through x2vol as well

Aprende

• Two editions per year: Fall & Spring
• Submission deadline: Early March (exact dates coming soon)
• Write in English or Spanish an article about a soccer player, a movie, an album, a song, an artist, a tv star that has catched your attention in Spanish.
• 1–2 hours based on quality
• Effort matters: 0 hours possible if minimal effort is shown

• Hour opportunity available all year long
• Visit San Felipe de Austin (San Felipe, TX) and learn the stories of early pioneers during American immigration to Texas
• Take a selfie at the historical site!
• 2 hours will be awarded (with picture proof).

Instructions:

• Choose a Hispanic City to make a travel itinerary for.
• You must include a minimum of 3 places of interest to visit, and 2 interesting facts about each place.
• Has to meet all requirements and look presentable to get 1 hour.

Submission Instructions:

• DM AND email us a png/pdf of your post with your name.
• Once it’s been posted on the NSHS insta, you can submit your 1 hr on x2vol.
• You can only complete this one time.

Tutoring

• You can earn up to 1 hour per semester

• Can tutor levels of Spanish below yours (no siblings)

• Fill out the form on the website and turn in to Sra. Kohlmaier before or after school

• Watch one of these 6 netflix docs that explore the rich heritage of Latin America!
• Watch either a documentary listed or one episode of one of these shows and write a reflection in the x2vol submission about what you watched and learned
• Only one hour awarded each semester (total)

Soccer Games

• 2 hours maximum
• Location: Seven Lakes Soccer Stadium
• Girls: 3/16

• 3 games available for every opportunity (4:30, 5:45, 7:15)

If you are playing in the game, you must sign in with us first to get 2 hours

​

• Make sure to SIGN IN and SIGN OUT with officers. We will have our flags set up

​

• You must stay for the full hour/two hours. If you leave earlier, we will round down.

​

• Please title the X2VOL opportunity with the specific game and date.

• Lunches of Love is an organization dedicated to delivering lunches to children during breaks.
• Bring them to Sra. Kohlmaier’s room (1256) before or after school.
