What is DSI?
“a type of social and collaborative innovation in which innovators, users and communities collaborate using digital technologies to co-create knowledge and solutions for a wide range of social needs and at a scale and speed that was unimaginable before the rise of the Internet.”

Started in 2013, DIS4EU is EU wide research project on Digital Social Innovation. �
The European Commission has funded the project to build a living map of organisations that use digital technologies for the social good. �

– Learn about DSI and emerging technology trends to enhance their support
– Provide policy recommendations to the European Commission

Workshop objectives
To define collaboratively how open hardware and maker projects can grow considering values such as the creation of a community, the technological openness, the communication, beyond the financial sustainability.

Generic Lab �Equipment

A series of “experiential” devices to start up an independent and open lab. Most of the tools are do it yourself (DIY) and open source and are built from widely available and recycled parts found in consumer products such as DVD drives, hard disks and pc fans.To build the tools helps to understand the basic principles behind and learn more about the technologies and methods used.
AnOtherShoe is a model for shoe production based on shared knowledge and local manufacturing, through small scale and on demand digital fabrication. The duo created a pair of shoes designed to be manufactured locally with a laser cutter. The assembly process is reversible and hand made, eliminating the need for stitching or gluing.

Precious Plastic is an open hardware and design project that offers a new way to recycle plastic. By releasing the designs for a family of open source machines, the project promotes and supports the spread of personal and local workshops for creating objects out of raw recycled materials.
