Community Enrichment Program

“Enrichment” is in reference to taking community college courses during summer or during the school year while still a high school student.

Students can take 1 or 2 enrichment courses each semester (summer, fall, spring).

Enrollment fees for these courses are waived, but students will have to purchase college textbooks. Transportation is not provided and students do not receive high school credit for enrichment courses.

Community Enrichment Program

To qualify for enrichment, students must meet the following requirements:�

9-12th grade student who is on track for graduation with a 2.5 minimum GPA OR 9th grade student who is on track for graduation with a 3.0 minimum GPA

Enrollment in a full schedule at enrolled High School

Must have not received a D, F, Incomplete, or NP in any former SCCCD enrichment or dual enrollment course

Rules & Guidelines

SCCCD Summer Scholars/Enrichment are rigorous programs for academically motivated high school students who demonstrate interest, maturity and academic readiness. Parents/guardians should consider their student’s organization, time management, and academic skills before approving enrollment.

By enrolling in college courses, students will start their college academic record. All grades earned will be a part of their official college transcript, including failing grades and withdrawals, which may impact future eligibility for college admissions and financial aid. It is the student’s responsibility to monitor academic progress at the community college. Students must also be aware of drop dates at the community college.

Once the enrichment paperwork has been submitted to the community college, it is the student's responsibility to monitor any further registration steps, course start dates, course requirements including needed textbooks, drop deadlines, grades, etc. Clovis High counselors or staff have no access to community college student information. While taking college courses, your student is considered a college student!

Students should check their SCCCD email regularly as this is the primary way community college staff and faculty members will communicate important information with students. Please check the community college portal regularly for updates/changes to course meeting schedules and class locations, based on the status of the pandemic in our region.

There may be prerequisites for courses or other campus requirements (e.g. vaccine requirements). Parents/students should check on those types of campus-specific requirements with the college prior to enrollment. Although tuition and fees are waived, high school students are responsible for books and materials related to the course.

The community college academic calendar does not align with the CUSD calendar. It is the student’s responsibility to be aware of start dates. Students should check their college email periodically for class updates. See community college website for additional information.

Enrichment Application : Step 1

Fill out the Online Application for SCCCD to get your community college ID number. You must select “Enrichment/Dual Enrollment” under “Term Applying For” in the application. Steps to Apply PowerPoint

The term should be Spring OR Summer/Fall 2026 High School Enrichment
Your education status is “In High School and College at the same time”

Filling out the enrichment application:

Once you have received your SCCCD ID number, YOU will fill out the Enrichment Application for whatever campus you want to take classes at:

Enrichment Application: Step 3

Decide what classes to take by searching “Transferable Courses” on Assist.org. If you don’t know where to start, begin in Area 3 (Art) or 4 (Social Sciences) of the General Education categories.

Enrichment Application: Step 4

Student and Parent review and sign the High School Enrichment Contract and turn in to your counselor with your enrichment packet. (Counselors will need this form before signing off your enrichment application)
Bring your completed packet into the counseling center to be reviewed and signed.
Classes should be filled out prior to turning in your packet.
Once you have turned in your application packet, please allow a processing time of 48 hours for counselors to review, sign, attach your transcript, and email you a copy.

Enrichment Application: Step 5

Once you have received the scanned copy from your counselor, YOU are responsible for sending in your application from your own personal email. To the college you are taking the class at. Here is Clovis Community email: enrichment@cloviscollege.edu

The college will contact you to let you know if you got into the class, or if the class was full and you need to choose another class.

YOU are responsible for monitoring your email for communication from SCCCD and following up with the Community College if you have any questions.

2026 Application and Registration Due Dates for Clovis Community College

Summer/Fall 2026: SCCCD Application Opens: March 2, 2026
Summer 2026: HSE packets will be accepted starting April 1, 2026.
Summer Registration Begins: April 17, 2026
Fall 2026: HSE packets will be accepted starting in April 21, 2026.
Fall Registration Begins: May 5, 2026�

Enrichment packets must be received by 12PM the Friday before the requested class starts. Late or incomplete packets will not be approved.
