Return to the Academic History section of your Cal State Apply application and click on A-G Matching from the left-hand menu.

Ensuring A-G Alignment

It's important to ensure that your A-G courses and grades are aligned to the correct A-G subject areas in your Cal State Apply application.

These slides will show how to check which A-G subject areas courses have been assigned after they are imported.

Review the A-G Subject Totals table. This table is made up of courses that have been successfully imported and pre-verified.

The table corresponds to the courses shown in green on the CSU Eligibility Tool in your CaliforniaColleges.edu account. Check if you are uncertain about alignment.

Click through each grade level and CAREFULLY check you A-G validation for each course.

Please note that some Community Colleges course may not show up here, they will be added by you in the COLLEGE COURSEWORK section.

If you took ANY World Language in 7th or 8th grade - follow these instructions. If you did not take a World Language in 7th or 8th grade - you do not need to do this part.

In the A-G Matching area, scroll to the bottom and click: Add a Grade Level.

Add Western (or the HS you attended in 9th grade) and the year is 2021-22. EVEN THOUGH it was junior high

To see exactly which courses are reflected in Cal State Apply's A-G Subject Totals table, you can use the CSU Eligibility Tool on the platform.

To do this, navigate back to CaliforniaColleges.edu, then hover over My Plan in the top menu bar.

Select Academic Planner from the dropdown menu.

Here you can view the courses that are listed in green, meaning they are verified A-G courses with a grade of C or better. These are the courses that appear on the A-G Subject Totals table in Cal State Apply

If you see courses in yellow at the bottom of the CSU Eligibility Tool, it means that these courses will have to be manually assigned an A-G subject area in your Cal State Apply application.

First, identify any courses shown in yellow in the CSU Eligibility Tool.

If you have questions about these courses, talk to your counselor.

To manually assign yellow courses an A-G subject area, navigate back to your Cal State Apply application and back to the A-G Matching tab. Click Update A-G Courses.
