TSI Testing:

All Testing will be monitored virtually. Apple technology does not work for testing.

  1. 9th Grade: Reading and Writing
  2. 10th Grade: Reading and Writing (if they have not passed)
  3. 11th Grade: Math (if they have not passed)

Note: A schedule will be set up for testing and shared with the students.

Canvas/Google

  • Midland College uses Canvas for all of their coursework. To be in alignment with Midland College ECHS will be using Canvas for all high School work for this school year.
  • Student and Parent information will be rolled out at the grade level meetings on August 14 and 17.
  • Teachers will utilize Google Meet for live lessons.

Attendance

Student attendance during virtual learning will be taken based on student engagement. (Student engagement is measured daily, and attendance is assigned based on the student’s completion of that “day’s assignment.” Students who do not complete the student engagement measurement, (on the day assigned), will be counted absent. 90% Attendance is in effect for virtual learning. Midland College professors and High School Professors will be taking attendance daily on engagement. Student engagement will be based on completing one or more of the following listed:

  1. Complete lessons in the following (No Red Ink, Achieve 3000, Imagine Math…)
  2. Submit completed work on Canvas
  3. Participate via chat or class discussion in Google Meet Office Hours, Tutorials, small group instruction.
  4. Participate in discussion board (post a response and reply to 2 other responses)
  5. Complete an assignment (district benchmark, state assessment, Interim assessment, TELPAS, STAAR, CFA, Exit Ticket…)

Grading

Grading Policy (MISD Standard Grading):

  • Grades will be taken during each grading cycle of the 2020-2021 school year.
  • All cycle grades will be used in the calculation of the final average for any class.
  • Final exams will be administered for all high school credit courses.
  • Teachers will record grades, which will be available for parents and students to access through Skyward Family Access (log-in information will be provided by the campus)
