Rules of Engagement

1

Submit request 4-6 weeks in advance

  • Submit requests via SFDC (account and opportunities)
  • Associated opportunity is ideal
  • Quality of experience and level of engagement is directly related to advance notice and planning

Determine the desired outcome

  • Identify a core theme, key message, or business outcome that you want all sessions to call back to
  • Share this with all discussion leaders so they can work it into their presentations and messaging

Do not confirm date with customer before the EBC

  • CEC frequently has multiple events on the same day
  • Submitting the request allows the host to check date availability
  • If preferred date is not available, contact CEC team directly
  • EBC team will not be able to support briefings at other HQ locations

Involve the customer in agenda planning

  • Keep a champion involved during agenda ideation to ensure relevancy of topics and the identification of proper discussion leaders and attendees (impact)
  • BREAKS: leave time for interaction. Full agendas with little to no breaks may lead to information overload. Many times, new insights are discovered during casual conversations.

Briefings require an Illumina host

  • If requestor can not be in attendance, a host must be identified.
  • CEC team can meet and greet when needed, but can not act as briefing host

ELT participation

  • ELT coordination requires additional time and effort, and their availability is not guaranteed.
  • Be able to clearly articulate the value of their participation and why their attendance is critical to the engagement
