Setup: Wiring and Placement

  • The picture to the right displays the wiring for the unit’s relay, speaker, and daylight sensor.

  • The image to the right shows an example of where a user should place his or her unit: preferably on a window sill.

Modes: Manual Control

  • Throughout the course of the day, you can manually turn your light on and off using the Blynk app.
    • Just press the blue “LAMP POWER” button in the middle of the screen to do so.
  • If you want your light to be only controlled manually, you can can turn off the smart system.
    • Just switch the bottom red button labeled “SMART SYSTEM - MANUAL CONTROL” to OFF.

Modes: Smart System Control

  • To turn on the Smart system, just switch the button labeled “SMART SYSTEM - MANUAL CONTROL” to ON.
  • The smart system has two states. The system will automatically switch between these states at different times. You can manually switch states by pressing the button labeled “SMART ACTIVATION”.
    • Active State
    • Sleep State
  • In active state there are two functions:
    • Too-Dark
    • Bedtime Alarm
  • In sleep state there is one function:
    • Wake-up Alarm
  • Manual control is still fully functional while the smart system is on.

Functions: Too Dark

  • Once the natural light coming through a window in your room isn’t bright enough, the smart controller will automatically turn your lamp on so you can see!
  • Choose what light level is too dark for your liking.
    • Simply move the top slider right on your blynk app to choose a darker light value for your light to turn on in, or move it left to choose a brighter light value.
    • You can monitor the current light value for reference in the top right box labeled “CURRENT LIGHT”. Larger values represent less light.
  • This feature is only present in the active state.

Functions: Bedtime and Wake-up Alarm

  • Set a bedtime in the blynk app, so that you can receive a notification on your phone from the smart controller telling you that it’s time for bed. Once it’s your bedtime, the smart system changes to sleep state.
    • Click on the box labeled “WAKE/BED TIME” and input your bedtime in the “STOP” box.
  • Set a wake-up time in the blynk app, so that you can be woken up by the sound of a catchy tune and a buzzing notification on your phone. Once it’s your wake-up time, the smart system changes to active mode.
    • Click on the box labeled “WAKE/BED TIME” and input your wake-up time in the “START” box.
