Materials

  • Lined notebook paper
  • Plain white copy paper
  • Tinfoil
  • Ruler or tape measure
  • Computer

Procedure

  • First make three paper airplanes out of lined notebook paper.
  • Then make three paper airplanes out of construction paper
  • Then make three paper airplanes out of tinfoil.
  • Next throw the paper airplanes and record the distance for each one. Repeat four times.
  • Last graph the distance for each paper airplane to see which one goes the farthest.

Conclusion

The hypothesis was disproved. The lined paper flew farthest because it was the lightest. We did have some wind issues that created another variable.

Real World Connection

Testing aerodynamics and weight vs gravity in aircrafts. We tested different materials to check how aerodynamic the materials are just like plane engineers test new materials to make planes more aerodynamic and cost effective.
