Why Take Transitional Math?

TM Success Rates Bottom Line:

First two years of TM yielded a �60% success rate of TM courses �(1014 students out of 1695)

  • 279 of the 1014 successful TM completers from the first two years of TM implementation have come to ECC and enrolled in a math course from SP20 -FA21 (still waiting on SP22 data)
  • We’ve collected ECC course success data for SP20 through SP21 (still waiting on FA21 and SP22 data)

  • MTH 112: 53% success rate for TM students (40)
    • Non-TM MTH 112 success rate: 63%�
  • MTH 102: 62% success rate for TM students (58)
    • Non-TM MTH 102 success rate: 62%
    • 77% success rate for TCA students (35)
    • 39% success rate for TQLS students (23)

ECC Course Success Rates

  • MTH 104, 107, 110, 120, 114 all had too small of sample sizes to make any conclusions
  • Some TM students are coming to ECC and taking developmental courses (19)
    • 84% success rate!
    • Possible reasons for this
      • Timing of student transcripts sent
      • Students unaware of transitional course implications
