  • From the latin “traductio” which can be roughly translated to “transport, lead to”
  • It’s the act of interpreting a text and the following production of a new one, identical to the first, in another language.

  • “Traduzione” is not only the act of translating, it is also used to refer to text itself, after being translated.
  • For that reason, it is more often used the verb “tradurre” or the saying “attività traducente”.

  • Or “traduttrice”
  • Means “the one that translates”
  • From the latin “traductor”, which can mean “the one that passes” or “transfers”
  • It can also refer to the technology used to translate something
