Motivation:

Platforms such as Opensea exist for NFT discovery on ethereum-based protocols, however these projects often have large gas fees that can inhibit usage.

- Use low gas fees and underlying Chia protocol to increase coin-based NFT adoption.

- Leverage Chia's representation of NFTs as coins to reduce friction in transferring and issuing new NFTs.

- Offer NFTs as an additional incentive for Chia Farmers and Harvesters.

What Chiaspace does:

Converts any coin built on Chia to be treatable as a purchasable and tradeable NFT.

Attaches pngs and other file assets to Chia coin addresses / puzzle hashes using IPFS.

Stores entries/listing as searchable based on name identifier.

Chiaspace / Chia becomes proof of ownership of IPFS cid.

Underlying coins still instrumented via ChiaLisp.

To go to production:

Chiaspace is currently a prototype / proof of concept built for the hackathon.

What’s not here that would be essential:

  1. Integrated wallet for sale / listing of Chia coin NFT entries - ideally similar to metamask.
  2. Integration with dedicated Chia node for RPC calls around transfer via NodeJS chia-agent.
  3. Dedicated storage for searchable listings (traditional database).
  4. Website hosting and marketing.
