What is the Data Quality Screening Service?

Quality Control information is typically provided with NASA Level 2 data

  • Designed to be used in screening data
  • IGNORE AT YOUR PERIL!
    • Dry bias in AIRS Humidity for unscreened data
    • High bias in MODIS aerosols over land for unscreened data
  • Why so difficult?
    • Bitfields, dataset-specific codelists, complicated screening relationships, obsolete documentation...
