Site management
Site Management
Site management
the site must be designed to maximize efficiency of operations in order to promote worker productivity, to shorten project time and to reduce cost.
Well planned site including all temporary facilities and utilities lead to:

Tower crane
Use two tower crane to serves each work zone within the radius of the crane for easy handling.

Z1
Material staging area
The storage area will be next to the tower crane to be not far from the working area and it does not impede the smooth flow of work traffic area across the site
It is necessary to plan and reserve storage areas for materials so that multiple movement of material is avoided.

Site Offices
They are able to reach all labor of the work and water tank is placed next to Offices
Site management
Employment parking
Parking Lots are provided for the owner, office, and craft personnel
Site management
Entrance
It is necessary to have a proper entrance for engineers and labors
Also, it is necessary to keep track of all visitors to the project
Site management
Entrance
A sign will be displayed in the entrance of visitors to the project to follow the safety instructions
Site management
Movement paths
Easy accessibility will keep the morale of the equipment and vehicle drivers high, minimize the chance of accidents, and save time in maneuvering to arrive at and leave the project
BIM
What is BIM Technology?
BIM or Building Information Modelling is a process for creating and managing information on a construction project across the project lifecycle.
BIM
(B) Building
(I) Information
(M) Modeling
Why Using BIM?
The ability to make decisions in an early stage before construction processes.
Dramatically improve the documentation process.
Helps greatly in the process of cooperation between all parties.
Saving time, effort, and cost.
View the impact of any change on the whole model by the push of the button.
Relation between BIM & Construction Management
Aid in visualizing the final project during design stage.
Greatly reduce changes & variations due to the usage of 3D model.
Clash detection: Identify the Area Of conflict & Problems prior construction.
Make 4d simulation which help to visualize the sequence of construction.
Organize the site.
Good visualization through different media images, video walkthrough in the building, study shadows.
BIM can produce the drawing, BOQ, shop drawing with high quality & less time than the traditional method.
Pricing & cost.
Calculation of the quantity automatically.

In order to determine the relative weights, we conducted a survey among 5 people in the site; 2 Engineers from technical office, 2 planning engineers, and an Owner representative.
Here is a sample of the survey:
We are Students from Benha University, Shoubra Faculty of Engineering, Construction Management and Engineering Department. We are making this survey for a study whether to use from list of available materials.
We have developed a set of criteria for comparison between the materials;
1. Efficiency
2. Cost
3. Durability
4. Installation
5. Acoustic insulation

Calculate total direct cost of Masonry works for First floor of Zone 1
Crew consists of:
1 Mason 1 Helper (450 LE/day).
No. of crews: 9
Quantity: 593.78 m2
Productivity rate: 10 m2/day
Duration = Quantity / (Rate x no. of crew) = 593.78 m2/ (10 m2/day* 9 crew) = 6.597 = 7 days.
Labor Cost = (Crew Cost) x No. Crews x Duration = 450*9*7= 28,350 LE.
Material Cost of 1m2= 23 Blocks (40*20*12) + 16 Kg. Cement + 0.054 m3 Sand
=(23/1000)*5200+(16/1000)*800+0.054*65=135.91 LE.
Material Cost= (cost of 1m2 x Quantity )= (135.91*593.78)=80700.64LE.
Total Cost = 28,350 + 80700.64 = 109,050 LE.
