Character Traits

Character traits are all the aspects of a person's behavior and attitudes that make up that person's personality. Everyone has character traits, both good and bad. Even characters in books have character traits. Character traits are often shown with descriptive adjectives, like patient, unfaithful, or jealous.

How can we find Character Traits?

Sometimes an author will tell you directly someone’s traits, while at other times, the author expects you to infer a character’s traits. It will be your job to determine what type of traits that each character in the story show. The author will help you by having the character act in a certain way or to say certain things.

A character’s traits sometimes stay the same throughout a story, or based on the events that a character experiences, may change over time.

Check out some examples here.
