September, 2022

Dear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Mr. Brunell, the Physical Education teacher at Beal. I am excited to see all our smiling friends back at school and I’m anxious to get to know all of them as we move and play on the field and in the gym.

Students will be participating in PE once per week (first graders 2x) for 40 minutes. Our lessons will consist of physical activities that address motor skill development, cooperation, fitness, and cognitive learning. Physical education is a part of our standards-based report card and will be assessed in these areas each trimester.

Sneakers- Sneakers will be required for physical activity. Sandals, Crocs, & Boots will not be allowed.

Please double-check the day your child has PE.

Clothing- Please wear comfortable clothing that permits the freedom of movement on all playing surfaces. Dresses/skirts should be saved for non-physical education days.

Medical Issues

If your child is recovering from illness or injury, please send a note or email letting me know when your child can return to activity and/or how long s/he will be out. For restrictions lasting longer than two weeks please bring in a doctor’s note.

I am looking forward to a fun-filled year!

Thank you,

Mr. Brunell
