Pandemic Operation Plan

Introduction

This plan is to guide our school year in response to the continued COVID19 pandemic.

​

Our goal is to provide a high-quality educational experience while respecting the Centers for Disease Control guidelines. It reflects input from parents, educational and health professionals and state officials.

​

This comprehensive plan, is neither exhaustive nor static. Day-to-day school-level operational plans, athletics and activities guidelines, may change due to new information in regards to COVID19 and CDH guidelines.

Implementation Strategies

• Hand sanitizer will be available for all staff, families and students while at Riverside
• Masks are expected for all students, staff and visitors
• Masks will be available for those who need them
• Handwashing stations will be available throughout the school and in classrooms
• All staff will monitor students health and follow protocols in regards to COVID19

Classrooms

While our teachers and staff continue to foster the love of learning, the following are protocols to help continue to keep our students safe:

​

• Students will be distanced in classrooms to the greatest extent possible.
• Limiting the sharing supplies by maintaining personal supplies in desks.
• Students will use personal earbuds/ headphones with devices.
• Protocols for disinfecting spaces and sanitizing hands will be implemented

Cafeteria and Playground

Socializing and being active is important to the wellness of our students. The following protocols will be followed to support a safe, healthy and active environment:

• Lunch will be served in the cafeteria or alternate locations.
• Handwashing station will be available upon entering and students will be seated following CDC guidelines.
• Structured games will be taught and available for students to play and socialize.
• Students will have access to playground, playground equipment, field and blacktop areas and numbers in specific locations will be monitored to help with social distancing.
• Protocols for disinfecting lunch tables and equipment will be implemented.
