The AP Test �(This Test Is a Monster!)

  • 3 Hour Test

Part 1 = Multiple Choice Test, 55-60 Questions, 4-5 passages, (old and new), anything from 16th Century Literature to Contemporary Literature: One Hour

Part 2= 3 Essay Questions (40 minutes each—2 Hours)

  1. Poetry Response
  2. Prose Response
  3. Open Response (Choose a Favorite Work of Literary Merit)

How Can Parents/Guardians Help

  • Encourage scholars to conference with Mr. Thom (Before/After School, A-Lunch, Periods 1, 2) Extra Credit for Each Conference!
  • Encourage scholars to engage in the re-writing/editing process.
  • If you notice missing conferences in the gradebook, please push scholars to see Mr. Thom & participate in re-writes.
  • Purchase study guides, and encourage regular, individual practice, especially during the 2nd semester.
