Earthquake and Severe Weather
You never know when these will strike
First we will look at Earthquake Safety
Rule Number One:
Remain Calm
Stay Inside if you're inside.
Take cover under a solid object, such as a desk or table, or against an inside wall. Cover your head and neck to protect from falling objects.
Stay in place until the quake stops.
Stay outside if you're outside.
Rule Number Two:
Stay Away From Glass, outside walls and stairways.
Rule Number Three:
Do not run through the building. the greatest danger comes from falling objects.
Rule Number Four
If you are outside, stay outside. Go to an open area away from buildings, utility lines, glass, trees, and steep slopes.
Watch for falling smoke stacks
(Look to the south of the parking lot)
Gather in the middle of the parking lot.
What to do after the quake stops
Make an immediate check for all persons, report any injuries and administer first aid, get out of the building if the building appears unsafe.
If necessary, remove people from dangerous areas. Remember there may be aftershocks!
Call emergency medical services if needed

Now lets look at Severe Weather Emergencies
Management should be aware of any threatening weather and monitor weather reports.
Safety First
During severe weather warning or watch, move to the safest place available, such as the interior of the building.
Good Rule to Follow
Stay away from windows and open doors
Stay Put
Stay at the safest location until the weather emergency has passed or until you are instructed to return to your work site.
Further Information
Report and remain at work locations unless otherwise directed by immediate supervision.
Final Word
Contact directors to make decisions regarding location operations (such as opening or closing the facility and sending patrons, volunteers, and Church Service Missionaries home)
