Mini Clicker has several main uses

  • Feed button trigger hand held remote
  • Tilt trigger (in a toy or for accessibility needs)
  • Motion trigger with detector (optional)
    • Automatically feed when person or dog passes in front of motion sensor
    • Motion detector is “plug-and-play” so just plug it into Mini Clicker to activate
  • Gen 3 ONLY-Hub from WiFi to Gen 3 Bluetooth
    • Note: Pet Tutor Mini feeder has WiFi built-in so hub function is for Gen 3 feeders only
  • The Mini Clicker can be used stand alone(runs 40-50 mins) or docked on the wand(runs 6-8 hours).NOTE Turn off when not in use(use left button)

Using buttons to feed and change modes.

  • Turn on the Mini Clicker by holding down the button located on the left side of the clicker. Press until the screen comes on
  • ​
  • Press the big M5 button in the middle of the clicker to clear to the main screen. Pressing the middle button will also trigger the feeder.
  • ​
  • Press the button on the right side of the clicker quickly to scroll through the options at the top of the screen. Holding down the right button will make the text on the screen bigger or make a QR code appear/disappear.
  • ​
  • To Select one of the options, hold down the big M5 button on the middle of the clicker for 3 seconds.

Charging rechargeable internal battery

  • Some charging sources not recommended: computer ports, charging towers and non-standard USB cables
  • Charge time is 2 hours
  • After charge the display should show around 90-100%
  • Battery life should last 40 to 60 minutes
  • Be sure to turn off when not in use. To confirm Mini Click is off press big button
  • Charge should last at least a week turned off
  • For longer use plug into wall or the battery wand(optional) Battery wand will last hours.

For Gen 3 Hub Set Up and Updates

  1. Quick press the right button until the help screen comes up
  2. Press and hold the middle M5 button for three seconds
  3. Quick press the right button until the AP mode screen comes up
  4. Press and hold the middle M5 button for three second

Disclaimer: This process will disconnect you from your wifi Make sure you are not on a video chat or in the middle of something important

Note: If you get this error message, go back and make sure you are connected to the PetTutorSetup_192_168_4_1 and refresh the page

5. Open your Wifi preferences and connect to the PetTutor Setup (this could take a while to show up on your Wifi Preferences)

6. Then in your browser search bar type in 192.168.4.1 as if it were a url

7. Fill out the settings to match your Wifi router and Wifi password

8. Your MQTT user is your email address

9. Your MQTT pass is "pettutor"

You can also rename your device name!

If you have a 5G and non-5G router choose the non-5G router to connect to

Note: Make sure there are no extra spaces or trailing spaces in your information

10. Hit the "Submit" button and reconnect to your wifi

11. Reload your Remote Feeding Panel Try your feed button

12. The feed button should trigger your Gen 3 and we able to trigger with a click of the middle button on the clicker

Note: Make sure no other Pet Tutor devices are on

13. To update your clicker, scroll to the bottom on the page and hit the button that says “Reimage over OTA ESP_M5” with your clicker still on

If you are using the newer version of the website, go to the Settings tab, then Update Devices, then Update Mini Clicker

Troubleshooting using status indicator

WMCATZ

(W)WiFi connected BUT (M)My Account NOT connected. In this case make sure the My Account setup email has no spaces or Caps.

WMCATZ

(W)WiFi connected AND (M)My Account connected. But not ( C) Connected to a feeder via Bluetooth yet.

This shows NO connections to WiFi or a feeder. And TILT is Off. This could happen for one of the following reasons. (check feeder and wifi)

  1. Account Setup will put Mini clicker into a wifi mode(AP) to allow your phone to connect and load wifi and cloud account information

Issue

Tip

Mini Clicker battery short

The rechargeable battery in the Mini Clicker will last about 40 minutes in TILT mode and 1-2 hours in regular mode. The battery wand can be attached and run for 8-10 hours.

TILT not working

Mini Clicker must be in TILT mode and connected to a feeder indicated: WMC TZ

Mini Clicker not connecting to feeder

The Mini Clicker will automatically connect to the first Gen 3 or Pet Tutor Mini it finds. Make sure all feeders are off except the one you want to connect.

Feeder Buzzer not on for Gen 3 feeder

NOTE: The buzzer control on the Mini Clicker only applies to the Pet Tutor Mini feeder.

Clicker is not charging

Clicker charge does not last very long

Not all cords and wall plugs are equal!

Try a different USB-C cord (if you have one)

If you are using your computer to charge it, try using a wall plug to charge it instead
