School Assignment letters

  • School assignment letters tell you which school they are assigned to next year.
    • Handed to students in December
    • Connect Ed will go home

  • There will be a 4 digit pin number - this pin is needed for lottery application.
    • Write this pin down/take a picture.
    • Please contact the school if you are in need of this pin.

  • ALL Piedmont students are assigned to an IB High School in their transportation zone.
    • Green zone - East Meck IB
    • Blue zone - East Meck IB and Harding IB
    • Violet zone - West Charlotte IB and North Meck IB
    • Myers Park zone - Myers Park IB

  • To choose a different school from the assignment letter, parents must complete the lottery application
  • The 4 digit pin is needed
  • There are questions regarding household income & size - if these are not answered you will not receive priority
  • You can enter the application and make changes as many times as needed
  • There is no priority given to when submitted, just complete by February 13 by 10:00 pm

Registration for courses

March - April

  • Students will be registered for classes to the school they are assigned to at time of registration
  • Students will be given registration information on how to complete (online or paper) and instructed to go home and discuss with parent
  • For large feeder schools a representative from the high school will come to look over their course selections and briefly meet with students individually
  • Piedmont students attended 20 different high schools last year.
    • Every high school has different requirements, courses offered and recommendations.
