2 of 24

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to inspire every girl to discover her potential through basketball—cultivating skill, confidence, resilience, and character with every practice and game. We are committed to creating an exceptional experience on and off the court, while providing a clear, supportive, and empowering pathway that prepares athletes to thrive at the high school level and beyond.

Play Multiple Sports During The Year; But Commit When You’re In Basketball Season

Playing/Played in College (Last 15 Years)

• Miranda Wucherer

• McKenna Wucherer

• Kayla Budish

• David Joplin

• Ben Nau

• Andrew Rohde

• Lydia Rohde

• Riley LaChance

• Anna Mortag

• Jack Daugherty

• Elijah Goodman

• Dylan Romero

Missing a few names from the last 15 years but very few players go on to play in college

In-Season Commitment

• During our season, we need players at practices and games given that we formed multiple teams with fewer players on each team.

• Communicate conflicts early with your coach

Coach Jack Hervert

BROOKFIELD CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH

  • They are loved.
  • Their value is not defined by what they do with a ball.
  • They have been uniquely created to make a positive difference in the world.
  • We use basketball as a context to accomplish this purpose.
  • Our list of core values is short: Love and effort.

We want all of our players to know…

NEEDED OPPORTUNITIES

Assistant Coaches — more women encouraged, especially if you or someone you know played hoops

Team Managers needed for every team except 5 Blue

10 of 24

Team Placements

3RD & 4TH GRADE & 5 White/Silver

Placements Finalized Early Into the Season

3rd and 4th grade team placements will be determined a couple of weeks into practices.

Evaluations Gave Us a Start

Roster Adjustments May Be Needed

The independent evaluations gave us a good starting point.

For the 5th grade White and Silver teams, we will need to move a player on the White team to even out the teams as two players that were placed on the Silver team did not register. Further adjustments may be made if the coaches and board need to balance the teams.

Expectations

WHAT WE ASK OF COACHES, PARENTS, AND PLAYERS

Coaches

• Treat every player with dignity, fairness, and patience

• Create a positive place to learn, make mistakes, and improve

• Set clear, age-appropriate expectations for effort and teamwork

• Model sportsmanship and professional communication with families

• Address behavior concerns promptly and appropriately

• Never bully, haze, harass, threaten, or discriminate

Parents & Guardians

• Encourage every player on the team, not just your own

• Model respect, composure, and good sportsmanship

• Respect coaches, officials, opponents, volunteers, and leaders

• Let coaches coach and officials officiate — no sideline coaching

• Never yell at, ridicule, or publicly criticize a player

• Don't discuss another player's ability or playing time with families

• Keep texts, group chats, email, and social media respectful

• Encourage your daughter to talk with her coach directly

Players

• Attend practices and games (less than 10 girls on the teams)

• Treat teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, and volunteers with respect

• Listen to coaches, follow team expectations, and be willing to learn

• Encourage teammates and contribute positively to the team; PUT-UPS

• Show good sportsmanship, including when things don't go their way

• Give full effort in practice and in games; be on time and coachable

• Never bully, harass, threaten, intimidate, exclude, or embarrass another person

Freedom of Choice — Not Freedom of Consequences
