1. BATHING
Q1. Why should we bath before doing Jin Puja?
A1. As doing Jin Puja with an unpure body causes
sin (Aashatna) to God.
Q2.In what manner should we bathe?
A2. We should bathe with filtered water in a
bucket and use minimum water as possible.
Q3. Which other precautions should we take?
A3. a) We should not use geyser, shower or
bathtub as these appliances use unfiltered
water, thus leading to wastage of water.
b) Minimum soap as possible should be used
as using more soap leads to excess of
water being used.

Q1. How should we go to the derasar?
A1. We should use the staircase, go walking
barefoot and always look at the ground
carefully.

travelling in a car, scooter or any other vehicle.
Q3. What punya do we get?
A3. We get the punya of fasts for 1 month.

4. TO WASH LEGS
Q1. What precautions should we take while washing
our legs in the Derasar?
A1. a) The water should be filtered.
b) We should take minimum water possible in a
glass and then wash our legs and should not
keep our legs directly under the tap.
c) If our legs are clean there is no need to wash.

5. FIRST NISHIHI
Q1. What does Nisihi mean?
A1. Nisihi means ‘to renounce’ or ‘to leave.’
Q2. Where should we do first Nisihi?
A2. While entering the Derasar.
Q3. What do we pledge at that time?
A3. We pledge to leave all activities and
thoughts related to our worldly life(Sansaar).
Females should cover their head and enter
the Derasar.

6. NAMO JINAANAM SEEING PRABHU
Q1. What does Pranaam mean?
A1. Pranaam means folding both hands and
bowing down one’s head.
Q2. When should we do Pranaam for the first time?
A2. When we see God for the first time.
Q3. What is the name of the first Pranaam?
A3. Anjalibaddh Pranaam-
Say “Namo Jinanam.”

7. PRADAKSHINA
Q1. What does Pradakshina mean?
A1. Pradakshina means keeping God in centre and
revolving around God.
Q2. How many Pradakshinas do we give and in
what way?
A2. 3 Pradakshinas.While giving Pradakshinas we
need to walk slowly, look down and also say
the duhas of Pradakshinas.
Q3. What benefits do we get by giving Pradakshinas?
A3.a) We get Ratnatrayi in the form of Darshan,
Gyan and Charitra.
b) We get the fruits of fasts for 100 Years.
c) We will get free from the cycle of birth
and death.

11. MUKHKOSH (RUMAL)
Q1. What is Mukhkosh?
A1. The cloth tied to the mouth while doing Jinpuja.
Q2. How should boys and girls tie Mukhkosh to
their mouths?
A2. Boys should tie Mukhkosh with their khes and
girls with their Rumal.
Q3. How should we tie Mukhkosh?
A3. We should tie Mukhkosh in such a way that
the nose and mouth get covered so that our
breath does not touch God.

A4. We should tie Mukhkosh before entering
the Gabhara.
