What you can do now: Start wearing your Ames Lab badge (or ISU Card) now to get comfortable with this change

You’ll need to wear your badge while in Ames Lab buildings.
We know there may be work activities that make wearing a badge difficult or impossible.

We will meet with multiple groups across the lab, including Facilities and Engineering Services (FES), Environment, Safety, and Health (ESH), Occupational Medicine (OccMed), the Materials Preparation Center (MPC), and the NMR group to gather feedback.
We’ll use this information to develop realistic guidelines for wearing badges without disrupting work.
We are investigating different types of lanyards and clips and will offer multiple options for you to choose from. Some of these badge holders will be low-profile, and some will feature Ames Lab branding. Watch for a Lab-wide poll soon and vote for your favorite styles and designs.

One thing you can do now to get comfortable with this change is to start wearing your Ames Lab badge (or ISU Card).

We’ve created a new Badging Office (in TASF 105) and hired people who are learning from other national labs. In this picture are Paul Lauer and Bob Lutter.

We are working out logistical details with IT, ISU, and DOE, including our Site Office.
DOE has given us funding to pay for the new Badging Office, its personnel, and software and hardware, which is the main reason we are making this change now.
