A Different Way to Open Google Slides on your Promethean Panel

  1. Find your Google Slide in Google Drive and open it in Chromium

  • Once open click "FILE" on the toolbar - look near the bottom of the list and click on "PUBLISH TO THE WEB"

Don't like the new way your Google Slides open in Chromium with the latest update? This takes a few more steps, but if you set it up in the morning you can leave it open all day without opening and closing it.

3. This will open another dialog box - click PUBLISH (1st below)

(2nd see image to the left) if you have never published this file you will be asked if you want to publish - click ok

4. Your URL link will be highlighted in blue - you need to copy the ENTIRE URL link if you DOUBLE CLICK on it then you will get the option to COPY

5. OPEN A NEW TAB - Double click in the address bar of the new tab and CLICK PASTE then Hit ENTER

6. Your "published" file** will open and be ready for you to use - you will still have the controls in the bottom, but you will not lose your tabs at the top - you CAN close the original file now - nothing happens to it and you don't need it anymore

**sometimes when you paste the URL to open the published file you might get an error that it wasn't "published" - just go through the steps again and it will work - Promise!
