What is Civics and Careers?

  • This semester you will do two ½ credit courses - one is Civics and one is Careers
  • We will start with Civics
  • In April, we will flip to Careers
  • No exams, but you will complete two RSTs worth 30% each

What will we learn in Civics?

We will learn about:

  • different types of governments
  • how Canada’s government operates
  • who are the key figures in Canadian government
  • what it means to live in a democracy
  • Political parties

  • We will also read about and discuss current events
  • We will start each class by reading the news
  • Each day when you arrive, you are to take your assigned chromebook and read the news

  • Be here on time
  • Be in uniform
  • Phone should be out of sight
  • Complete all work and assignments on time
  • Work hard
