ACTION STEPS

ELA

  • Implementing Lucy Calkins' Reading Units of Study and a daily readers' workshop K-5.

  • Provide more direct instruction and opportunities for students to respond to reading.

  • Implement and analyze performance assessments for students in grades 3-5.

Math

  • Consistently analyze formal and informal math assessments ( I READY & interim assessments) and plan for small group instruction.

  • Target support for teachers in math.

  • Engage grade levels teams in deep data conversations and revise and supplement the curriculum as needed.

  • Allow students opportunities to practice the format of the assessment and problem type throughout the year.
