A Donation Station for a more
sustainable
Pima East Campus

What does sustainability mean?
The United Nations described sustainability as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
What is a problem I've noticed?
In case the video doesn't corporate…
My psa brought awareness to…
How do we fix this?
One way that this problem can be tackled is through a local donation station. While this won't necessarily fix anything but it certainly will help.
It'll foster community and also provide resources for people who need them. And also provide a place for people to give away things instead of them rotting in a landfill or becoming overpriced in a second hand store.
How is this helpful?
This is a step in the right direction because it creates less waste. It also allows for people who may not have the means to have access to much needed resources.
Why pima east?
Pima East is a good place to implement a donation station because as a college campus it is very busy so it will be known about. It is also a place where people frequent on a regular basis so people won't need to go out of their way to visit it.
How can Pima East Implement this
It won't be the easiest thing in the world but it's not impossible. It would require a dedicated room, 2-3 people to manage it, and some marketing.
The room would act as the base of operations where the goods would be displayed and also where the donations would be dropped off.
The 2-3 people would most likely be volunteers, I do not think it would be hard to find volunteers on a college campus. They would accept and go through the donations while also managing upkeep of the room.
The marketing could be done through email announcements and also posters around campus.
