Bilbo Catcher

The bilbo catchers was sold by Williamsburg merchants and milliners, a person who makes and sells womens’ hats. The bibo catcher was popular in the Virginia colony. The bilbo catcher was made in Bilbao, Spain. Children 5 or older play with it more than younger kids because it requires skill. The bilbo catcher was famous way before the American colonies. To play the game you hold the stick so the ball either gets in the small cup or the pointed end where it goes in the small hole on the ball, the second way is more challenging.

Wooden Top

The wooden top has been around since the ancient times. There were 5 types of tops by the 16th century. Some of the types of tops were peg tops, whip tops, and hand spun tops. The artifact you see is the hand spun top. The peg top is the most common top which you put the peg on the ground and twist the top. The whip top is the same as the peg top, but once the whip top starts to spin you can control it with a string called a whip. Finally, the hand spun top works by just pulling the string and letting go. Once you let go of the string it flies onto the ground and starts to spin around. Tops were one of the most popular toys back then.
