NEGOTIATED AGREEMENT

  • Comply with federal, state, and local departments of Public Health sanitation standards and District’s Return to Campus Plan.
  • Provide attendance related flexibility and accommodations needed for requested leaves. 
  • Allowed one paid week (after Spring 2020 break) for online teaching preparation and transition for all faculty and a $500.00 stipend.
  • Pay all faculty for all originally assigned classes for the spring 2020 semester despite course cancellations.

���DISTRICT TRAINING & COMPENSATION���

  • Three online teaching certification training pathways with several options and professional development for full and part time faculty with teaching assignments.
  • Minimum competency required of all faculty who currently teach or plans to teach in the Spring 2021. (Note: this extends the original deadline established by the Office of Academic Affairs).
  • Full and part-time instructional and non instructional faculty with teaching assignments, should at least complete the minimum training including the “Accessibility” and “Regular and Effective Contact” competency self-paced modules or 4 workshops.

Full-time instructional faculty will receive FLEX credit for completing these two modules or workshops. Part-time instructional faculty will be compensated at $30/hr. and all (part-time and full-time) non-instructional faculty with teaching assignments will be paid $40/hr.

TRAINING�

If you've already completed DE certification, you will not need to complete the minimum competency modules. (Regular Substantive Contact and Accessibility are already covered in the DE certification).

Note: consult with the CTX and your Deans to determine if your online teaching certification meets district’s requirements.

������EVALUATIONS���

  • Forms for fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semester faculty evaluations remain unchanged.
  • Probationary or tenure-track faculty have to be evaluated in the fall 2020 semester.
  • Tenured faculty scheduled to be evaluated in the Fall 2020, have the option of being evaluated in the fall of 2020 or postpone the process until the Spring 2021.
  • Part-time faculty who were scheduled for evaluation in 2019-2020 and were not evaluated prior to March 30, 2020, will be evaluated the next assigned semester in accordance with the current District/CCFA Agreement.
  • Part-time faculty who are scheduled to be evaluated in 2020-21, must be evaluated as scheduled unless there is a mutually agreed exception granted by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

INSTRUCTION�MODALITY AND MORE

  • Distance education delivery is expected for most instructional faculty. Counseling and library faculty service delivery remains remote. Expected preparation and delivery time remain the same for all teaching faculty.
  • Faculty have freedom to teach synchronously or asynchronously using the same course outline and SLOs. 
  • Attendance, accreditation standards, and potential schedule conflicts due to the conversion remain up for administrator’s review.

ACCESS & SAFETY

  • Faculty may request on campus access pending supervisor’s approval 24 hours in advance.

  • Social distancing accommodations are available for faculty sharing office spaces, additional instructional equipment requests and supplies, or facilities services are also available.
  • Full-time instructional and non-instructional faculty may request to remotely access “Z” drives, OneDrive, or other district approved resources. 
  • While on campus, all faculty should comply with protocols stated in the return-to-campus plan.

����������ARE YOU TEACHING SPLIT LABORATORY CLASSES?����

  • Faculty teaching any lab or course district approved to be split into two or more “entities”, will be compensated for each of the “entities”. 
  • Full-time faculty will be paid at the overload rate per entity.
  • Part-time faculty will be compensated at the hourly rate per “entity”.

FACULTY HEALTH, SAFETY, AND LEAVE

  • Faculty must self quarantine at the start of symptoms for 14 days and will not be charged accrued leave for the first 80 hours.
  • Faculty over the age of 65, having compromised immune systems, or other medical conditions, will also be granted 80 hours of leave. Part-time faculty will be granted the equivalent of two weeks of work.
  • Further absences from work will be granted to all faculty who need more than 80 hours of leave due to COVID-19 related symptoms. These faculty must complete the “Temporary Modification of Assignment Due to Sick Leave Tracking Authorization Form” of the COVID-19 MOU .
  • All faculty assigned to work on campus, who need to work remotely due to personal or family health concerns, may contact their Deans for remote schedule accommodations.
