Vision
Our vision is to develop advanced literacies in ALL students. Advanced literacies represent a set of skills and competencies that enable communication, spoken and written, in increasingly diverse ways and with increasingly diverse audiences.
Mission
The mission of the RCSD Department of ELA and LIteracy K-12 is to ensure that ALL of our students possess the literacy skills necessary to be World Ready by the end of twelfth grade.

Anchor teaching and learning in meaningful end-of-unit outcomes that relate to the real world and priority standards.
Devote asynchronous time to purposeful independent work.
Use synchronous time for collaborative tasks and to address common misconceptions.
