Configs that have at least 1 SME review, but prefer to have at least 2-3 more reviewers

  1. alamarBlue assay
    • Dye-based plate reader assay, measures cell viability, proliferation, cytotoxicity

  • Chromogenic and Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization
    • Colorimetric or fluorescent probes hybridized to target sequences, measures genomic elements and chromosome mapping and abnormalities

  • Chromosome Aberration
    • Uses Giemsa stain, FISH, or CISH to measure chromosome aberrations (from DSBs etc)

  • In Vivo Calcium Imaging
    • Current data set is neuro-focused: injection of viral construct with calcium indicators into brain, craniotomy to install fiber optic camera or window, which allows real-time measurement of neural activity during behavior assays

  • Continuous Glucose Monitoring
    • Monitor that continuously measures subject glucose levels, e.g. Freestyle Libre

  • Autoshaping/Operant Response
    • Mammalian (mostly rodent) learning/reinforcement behavior assay
    • Likely hosting a subgroup meeting to review this config

Configs still needing SMEs

  • Clinical Chemistry Analysis
    • Clinical hematological and biochemical analysis
  • Spectrophotometry for Microbiology
  • Hexoskin/Astroskin
    • Wearable vitals monitoring device, ECG/Accelerometer-based
    • Very specific and niche assay, not expecting many SMEs
  • Microindentation/Nanoindentation
    • Probe used to measure the hardness/mechanical properties of surfaces (e.g. tissues, cells, coatings, etc)
  • Finite Element Analysis
    • Modeling-based assay to analyze composite materials
  • Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis
    • Microscopy assay, uses light scattering to record nanoparticle movement in medium

How to provide feedback

  • OSDR Public Config List (bottom of the first sheet has the configs needing SME review)
  • Can also send feedback in any format (email, or just put comments anywhere in the Google Sheet docs)

Bioluminescence Imaging (Draft in Progress)

  • Bioluminescence, Fluorescence, and X-ray imaging

  • Multi-spectral, multi-wavelength imager

  • Visualize multiple fluorescent tags in vivo

  • 3D constructed images

  • Used commonly to track tumor progression non-invasively

Label-free impedance-based cell assay (Draft in Progress)

Schematic image of electron flow in a single well of an E-Plate. A) Electron flow from one biosensor to the other through culture media only. B) Impeded electron flow from one biosensor to the other due to cells attached/growing on gold microelectrodes

Zoomed-in photograph of gold microeletrodes on the E-Plate® well bottom.

D) Unstained human cells, growing on microelectrodes

Unlabeled cells in culture adhere to the well/electrodes and impede the electron flow. After treatment is applied and apoptosis is induced, cells begin to detach. The subsequent change in impedance is a measure of real-time cell death.
