Let’s Celebrate�Met Claiming Criteria for FY23 Grants

FY23 Title I (0 out of 12 schools) – Spent 85% in Year 1:

No schools have met this criteria as of today (not including pending reimbursements). Title I schools MUST spend at least 85% of FY23 allocations by June 30, 2023 and claim by July 10, 2023.

FY23 Title II (14 out of 38 schools) – Spent 50% in Year 1: Bridges, Butler, Compass Collegiate, GREEN Midlands, GREEN Greenville, GREEN Lowcountry, Legacy, Liberty Steam, Meyer Center, Midlands Middle, PACE, Polaris, Tall Pines, York Prep

FY23 Title IV (5 out of 12 schools) – Spent 50% in Year 1: Butler, Legacy, Liberty STEAM, Meyer Center, Polaris

CLAIMING DEADLINES

  • June 30th:
    • Last day of the 2022-2023 Fiscal Year
    • Last day to spend expiring grants (one exception – FY22 Title I – due to additional funding)
  • July 10th:
    • Last day to claim expenditures from July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023 (Note that schools should have claimed quarterly!!!)
    • See note on next slide for accrual information
  • August 16th:
    • Begin claiming expenditures from July and August.
    • July expenditures can’t be claimed until after August 15th.

ACCRUAL

  • If submitting for accrual (any goods and services received by June 30th that were paid for after June 30th, such as payroll), please submit in Epicenter by August 2nd.  THIS DEADLINE IS FOR ACCRUALS ONLY!  All other claims MUST be submitted by July 10th!
  • If the school paid for professional development prior to July 1st that is taking place after July 1st, then it must be submitted in Epicenter by July 10th.  Please be sure to include the agenda, which can usually be downloaded from the conference website.  
  • Goods and services MUST be received by June 30, 2023 to be claimed in the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

August 1st:  FY24 Preliminary Title IV

ADDITIONAL FY22 TITLE I FUNDING UPDATE

  • FY22 Title I schools received a notice about additional allocations from the SCDE that could be used July 1st – September 30th.
  • Activities were due in Epicenter on June 1st.
  • SCDE has not entered new allocations in GEMS, so I can’t update until after August 15th.
  • There is still time to submit applications in Epicenter under Title I – FY22 Title I Application.
  • Stay tuned for more information.

ARP HOMELESS II STIPEND REIMBURSEMENT REMINDER

  • Stipends of $1,000 will be paid to each Homeless Liaison in each school who can demonstrate that they have spent at least 25 hours per school year outside of normal contracted work hours to increase identification of homeless students, provide awareness of homeless services, and/or provide outreach to homeless students and families.
  • The ARP Homeless II grant will reimburse schools for the $1,000 and the benefit costs (social security and retirement only). To ensure prompt reimbursement, the stipend should be paid to the homeless liaison by the June 15th payroll and submitted in Epicenter to the district by the July 10th deadline.
  • The following documentation will be needed: Time log and payroll register. Please click here to access the cover sheet needed for this request. The submission type in Epicenter is McKinney-Vento/Homeless Reimbursement Request. Please email or call Becky Huggins if you have any questions.
