Cold and Flu Season

We are in the thick of cold and flu season. We want to remind and continue to encourage good “Germ Containment” as we continue to fight this battle. We have been encouraging the kids to wash their hands thoroughly. To cough in their sleeves, use hand sanitizer and to keep a bit more social distance between each other until things begin to taper off. We did reach the highest absence numbers I recall over the past 12 years. We have begun to trend downward so that is good. Please encourage your children to eat a healthy meals, get plenty of rest. We are not alone, this flu bug has infected every school. So let’s do our best to focus on the good habits to stay healthy.

Cold Weather

We have had some really cold days this winter. Please note that we like for the students to get some fresh air and play outside even when it is pretty cold. Please make sure that the kids have a warm coat, hats and gloves. Thanks

Opportunity for prayer:

A flyer was sent home to each family this week with an opportunity for prayer and consecration to St. Joseph. Please make sure to read the flyer and consider participating in the consecration to St. Joseph, the patron saint of fathers and families. Consecration to St. Joseph The prayers began February 15th but you can still register your email to receive the daily prayers. It is never too late.

PreK-7 Re-Enrollment Due

Each family with a student currently in grades PreK-7th should have received an email with a “snapcode” to re enroll your child for next school year. All re enrollments should be completed by February 17th. It is important that this be completed so that we can begin preparing for next year. If you need assistance or did not receive the email, please contact Tara McLaughlin in the school office at tmclaughlin@stjudefw.org.

I-Read 3 Information

March 3-March 13 is the I-READ3 testing window for Grade 3 students. Please have your student come to school on time, eat a good breakfast, and get plenty of sleep. Please do not schedule dentist/doctor appointments or other away from school activities during this testing time because this makes its hard to test or have students make up tests.

Junk/Scrapbook Journaling Club

Students in grades 6th,7th and 8th are invited to join Mrs. Flores in her Junk/Scrapbook Journaling Club. The club will meet on Wednesdays after school until 4pm. We will provide all of the materials making the cost free. Each student attending will need to have a permission slip on file. Permission Slip Here
