It is used to narrate a series of past events or
to tell a story that took place in the past.
It is used to describe states, conditions, or situations that existed in the past.
It is used to describe actions or events that happened & were completed in the past.
It is used to describe actions or behaviors that were habitual or routine in past but are NO longer true now.
It is used to express specific times or dates in the past.
